Putting the Ca$H in CASH Climb - Jenn Mallek
SILKS - Intermediate to Advanced
Saturday 4p-530p
In this workshop, I’ll take you on a journey down the CASH Climb rabbit hole. I fell deeply in love with this climb and its unbound potential. This silky, flow-driven climb unfolds through four key “nodes” along its course:
Crochet → Arabesque → Sit-Up → Hitch (thigh hitch).
Each node offers the potential to branch into countless creative sequences, poses, and transitions — all of which weave back into the climb’s central spine. We’ll dissect each node, explore variations and offshoots, and discover how to connect them seamlessly into flow.
Our goal is to expand your aerial vocabulary so you feel confident to create, improvise, and climb with your own unique style.
We’ll also add a spin to the mix, focusing on how to sustain momentum and preserve rotation as you travel through the climb.
Whether you’re looking to polish your climb with style or unlock new pathways for choreography, this workshop will help you truly put the Ca$h in your CASH Climb.
Pre Requisites: must be comfortable with inversions and basic climbs
My aerial journey began on Thanksgiving 2016, when I bought a Groupon for a flying trapeze experience, not thinking much of it. That first flight left me completely invigorated. In early December, I took my first silks class, and there was no looking back. The combination of flow, beauty, and the intellectual complexity that silks offer had me instantly hooked.
Since then, I’ve expanded into other circus disciplines including straps, handstands, and occasional dabbles with other fun apparatus, but aerial silks will always be my first and greatest love.
By day, I work as an anesthesiologist, where I get to combine my natural aptitude for science, physiology, and pharmacology with my love of helping people feel safe, seen, and free from pain. I bring that same care and awareness into my teaching, blending medical insight with creative exploration to help students train safely, have fun, and the body awareness and strength needed for longevity in their aerial practice.
